CPT Policy

CPT Policy and Start Date

* Indicates that CPT is mandatory for program enrollment as F-1 students

Students who have not completed one academic year:
May be eligible for CPT starting in the 3rd actively enrolled term
Students who have been on an F-1 visa with valid SEVIS status for at least 1 year:
May be eligible to participate in CPT in their first term of study, the CPT start date aligns with the program start date

CPT Course, Fee and Graduation Requirment

Additional course required if CPT is needed
INT 501 (Pass/Incomplete grading system)
INT 599 (Will be a 1-unit course with letter grades)

CPT Cost:
The first lNT 501 and the first INT 599 fees are included in the tuition
Addition INT 599 will be considered as electives for $500 per course

Graduation Requirment:
Students are required to complete INT501 & INT599 to graduate

Required CPT Documents

Students must register for INT501 or INT599 during course registration (you will be placed on the waitlist for the class) and send the following documents to dso@ciam.edu and registrar@ciam.edu
The Internship Application Form Employment Letter:
The Employment Offer Letter must be on original company letterhead that is signed by the student’s supervisor.
It must include the following:
Name and address of employer Job Title and detailed job description Specific employment start date and end date Full-time or Part-time and the number of hours per week Supervisor’s name, title, and contact information

Multiple CPT Policies

Allow two jobs at the same time, but require that those two jobs are part time

CPT Application Deadline

Same as class drop with full tuition refund date
